Optional Google Analytics

Google Analytics loads only after you explicitly allow the expanded measurement choice. Earlier attribution or usage permission does not enable Google Analytics. It measures public pages with a random browser identifier; Google also receives technical connection information including your IP address. Advertising measurement is disabled. Private document, listening, account and payment routes, email, query strings, fragment identifiers and referrer details are excluded. Public article paths are grouped as a blog page. You can withdraw permission using Privacy settings; this stops Google measurement and clears its browser cookies. Previously collected reports are not erased by withdrawal. Owner opt-out and automated traffic are excluded. Anonymous product activity is recorded only with your consent and does not identify a natural person. Google Analytics retention is set to two months.

What the service needs to make your audio, and what you can choose.

Documents and conversion

When you select a file and request a text preview, the file is sent to VoiceMyFile to extract its readable text. This preview does not create a conversion job or save the document to cloud storage. Text you paste stays in this browser until you submit it; a draft carried from a conversion page or the listening-time calculator is kept in this tab’s session storage and removed when the uploader reads it. The calculator itself counts text and estimates duration on your device.

When you submit a document, we store the original file, your reviewed narration draft with its selected sections and text changes, document title, format and size, and your conversion settings. We use the reviewed text to generate the audio you requested. Only upload content you have permission to process, and avoid documents containing sensitive personal information.

Voice auditions and listening preferences

If you choose to audition your own text, the preview sends up to 150 characters to the selected narration provider when you press the audition button. Our preview endpoint does not cache or log that text. The fixed voice samples use a generic passage instead.

The listening player can store a conversion identifier, playback position, duration and update time on this device so you can resume. It keeps at most 20 positions, for up to 30 days. It does not store document text, titles, email addresses or signed audio URLs in this listening preference. Browser storage can be blocked or cleared; position memory then may be unavailable.

Providers involved

VoiceMyFile uses Vercel to serve the website, Google Cloud Storage for files and audio, and a PostgreSQL database for conversion records. The configured narration service, OpenAI or Inworld, receives the text needed to generate speech. A sample of document text may also be sent to OpenAI to detect the language. Resend receives your email address and the message needed to deliver conversion notifications.

These providers process data under their own service terms and privacy policies: Vercel, Google Cloud, OpenAI, Inworld and Resend.

Email, links and storage

Your email address identifies your conversion and receives completion or error messages. Conversion pages and download links are intended for you; keep their URLs private. Signed audio and track-archive download links expire after six days. Link expiry does not mean the stored document or audio has been deleted automatically.

Conversion records, originals, reviewed narration drafts and final audio can remain in storage after a link expires. When available, final exports also include numbered audio tracks and a timing manifest. Temporary generation chunks are removed after the final MP3 is stitched. To request removal of a document and its conversion records, use the contact page and include the conversion ID. We may need to verify that the request relates to your conversion.

Optional usage measurement

You can allow or decline measurement of the public page and source that brought you here. If you allow it, a session cookie records the landing page, referring hostname and short campaign tags. If allowed, a random cookie that expires after 30 minutes of inactivity identifies a measured visit. We record page views, whether an extraction preview succeeded or failed, and whether playback or a download was started. Private page paths are reduced to a stage name; document identifiers, query strings and signed file URLs are not sent in these events. On accepted upload and configuration, the visit and source are linked to conversion IDs so we can compare which pages lead to completed conversions. These anonymous visit counts cover consenting browsers and are not exact counts of people. We do not put document text, filenames or email addresses into these attribution reports.

Your choice is remembered in this browser. Declining clears the attribution cookie and does not affect conversion. Existing records created while measurement was allowed are not erased by changing the choice.

Feedback and optional transfers

The feedback panel is provided by LuupHub. It loads when you allow usage measurement or choose to open feedback. It receives feedback you submit, any contact details you choose to include and technical context needed to operate the widget. Conversion notification emails may offer an optional link to transfer the original file to DocuGlot. The transfer link includes a signed file URL and conversion information; a transfer happens when you choose to use that link.

Questions about your data, corrections or removal requests can be submitted through the feedback contact panel.
